How should empty packaging be stored before filling?

Store packaging clean, protected, identified and within the supplier’s stated environmental limits. Keep components in their protective packaging until needed, away from contamination, moisture, direct heat, sunlight and loads that can deform them. Use pallets, cases and stacking patterns that preserve the pack shape and seal surfaces.

Food-contact components need additional hygiene controls appropriate to the site and product. Packaging should not be left exposed in production areas longer than necessary.
